The strategic objective of the SAFETechnoPACK is to improve the scientific and technological capacity of TUBITAK MRC Food Institute in food packaging technologies. Specifically, it is aspired to improve the research capacity in chemical contamination from the food contact materials, and developing new food packaging materials using nanotechnology and active antimicrobial packaging technologies.
In order to accomplish the strategic objective, following specific objectives and workpackages are established:
1. Upgrading S&T equipment infrastructure
2. Recruitment of researchers
3.Networking and co-operative activities: Networking activities are aimed to facilitate the knowledge transfer of researchers working in FI on food packaging at regional, national and international levels. Following activities are planned:

Participation in international conferences and workshops,

Organisation of conference on food packaging technologies in Turkey,

Organisation of brokerage events,

Technical visits to packaging laboratories in Member States,
4. Improvement S&T experience and knowledge of researchers

Short term and long term training courses on novel packaging technologies and packaging laboratory applications,

Invitation of expert scientists exchange of know-how and experience in the field of packaging
5. Information and dissemination activities

Web page set-up, preparation of leaflets, organisation of info days, participation in international packaging fairs, participation in FOOD CLUSTER activities
